The presentation of the report titled “Human Rights Violations in Palestine and the Gaza Genocide” by the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Institution (TİHEK) was held at our University.

Hosted by the School of Law at our University, the presentation of the report prepared by the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Institution (TİHEK), titled “Human Rights Violations in Palestine and the Gaza Genocide”, was held on December 19, 2024. The program was organized in collaboration with the Law and Human Rights Center (UHAM), the Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center (UÇAM), and the Civil Society Studies Application and Research Center (CIVIL), with the participation of TİHEK President Prof. Muharrem Kılıç.

Prepared by the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Institution (TİHEK) to address the historical and current dimensions of crimes against humanity and genocide committed in Gaza, the report was developed with the contributions of academic experts in the field. The report examines the violations committed by Israel against the Palestinian people from historical, ideological, and legal perspectives.

Comprising four main sections, the report explores the historical and religious foundations of Israel’s occupation and aggression in Palestinian territories, the emergence of Zionist ideology, Israel’s occupation of Palestine and violations of international law, the denial of return for displaced Palestinian refugees, illegal settler policies, the apartheid regime imposed on Palestinians, and the destruction of Palestinian agricultural lands and water resources, which deprives them of their right to life. The attacks carried out by Israel on Gaza are evaluated in terms of the laws of war.

The conclusion of the report emphasizes the importance of maintaining awareness and generating discourse.
