The event, titled "Leave No Trace on Nature, Leave Awareness Instead!", organized on May 19, 2026, through a collaboration between the School of Law and Cemre Foundation, was held with the aim of raising environmental consciousness among young people and encouraging voluntary activities. It was attended with great enthusiasm by students.
As part of the event, students first visited the center of Cemre Foundation. The program began with an introductory presentation about the Foundation by Dr. Meryem Solmaz, a member of the Cemre Foundation Board of Directors and a member of our Faculty. It continued with a presentation by Cemre Foundation Board Member Mrs. Gülnar Ayata, which provided comprehensive information on the climate crisis, sustainability, volunteering in environmental activities, and the COP 31 Conference to be held in Antalya in 2026. The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment.
In the second part of the event, participants walked along the Beykoz shoreline and then proceeded to the Beykoz Water Sports Center to experience canoeing. Following a basic training session, participants enjoyed canoeing in the cool blue waters of the Bosphorus.
The event closed with a conversation on what a carbon footprint is and how it can be reduced at the individual level.
