On Wednesday, November 22nd, our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan met with the research assistants of the Faculty of Law. Hüseyin Yağızhan Kol, Betül Bozkır, Ömer Faruk Petek, Saliha Merve Kaya, Meryem Solmaz Bilici, Abdülmecit Güldağı, Muhammet Talha Kaan and Ömer Faruk Kafalı attended the event, which took place at the Rectorate Building Meeting Hall.
In his speech, Prof. Atilla Arkan shared his expectations from the research assistants of our university, emphasizing that research assistants are a bridge between undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members, and emphasized the importance of research assistants to guide undergraduate students and shed light on students in graduate activities. Prof. Arkan also pointed out that project activities are of great importance at our university and advised to focus on topics that have not been researched before. One of the recommendations Prof. Arkan gave to the research assistants of our faculty was that they should be courageous, turn to new fields and be open to criticism.
In the later stages of the meeting, Prof. Arkan elaborated on Ibn Haldun University's expectations from research assistants and listened to each research assistant individually by adopting an individual approach. During the meeting, where research assistants took notes on their thesis topics, academic careers, professional development and future goals, Prof. Arkan emphasized his intention to support research assistants not only in the academic field but also in personal development and leadership. In addition, Arkan emphasized the need to guide the students and encourage them to pursue new and innovative research with an encouraging attitude.
The meeting, which aims to contribute to the further strengthening of the academic family of our university in unity and cooperation, ended with the ideal of revealing the potential of each research assistant and enabling them to raise the scientific bar of the university.
