The “New and Civil Constitution Workshop-1: General Framework and Fundamental Principles,” organized in collaboration with Ibn Haldun University School of Law, the Association of Constitutional Lawyers, and the Türkiye Law Platform, was held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Ibn Haldun University.
In the opening session of the workshop, our President Prof. Atilla Arkan, Dean of the School of Law Prof. Şükrü Yıldız, President of the Association of Constitutional Lawyers, Prof. Yavuz Atar, and Secretary General of the Association of Constitutional Lawyers, Attorney Ahmet Akcan, delivered their speeches, emphasizing the importance of the need for a civilian constitution in Türkiye. They highlighted that the support of the academic and legal communities would be crucial in shaping the process of drafting a civil constitution.
The workshop, attended by representatives from various institutions and organizations, concluded with the message that a civil and inclusive constitution can only be shaped through the collective efforts of all segments of society.
It was stated that similar events would continue to be held at Ibn Haldun University in the future, while emphasizing that, with the academic contributions of our School of Law, support for the formation of legal policies in Türkiye would also continue.
