Prof. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu took part in the IVth Labour Law Congress held on 23-25 January 2025 with her presentation on ‘Use of Artificial Intelligence in Recruitment and Possible Legal Risks’.

The IVth Labor Law Congress, organized in cooperation with Yeditepe University Faculty of Law and Law Education between 23-25 January 2025, brought together academics, lawyers and practitioners who are experts in the field of labor law. Current issues and problems in different areas of labor law were discussed at the congress.

In the session titled “Digitalization and New Developments in Labor Law” held on the second day of the congress, Prog. Prof. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu made a presentation on “Use of Artificial Intelligence in Recruitment and Possible Legal Risks”. In her presentation, Ms. Gümrükçüoğlu discussed the increasing use of artificial intelligence technologies in recruitment processes, the risks that these technologies may pose in the legal context and their impact on employee rights. In this context, he emphasized the need for regulation, especially algorithmic profiling, discrimination and privacy risks, comparative law and current legislation. The congress also discussed current issues such as the other effects of digitalization on labor law, the right of workers not to be accessed and the evidentiary nature of digital records.

The IVth Labor Law Congress attracted great interest by creating an important platform for academic discussions and legal developments.
