On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Ibn Haldun University School of Law had the honor of hosting Assoc. Prof. Safa Koçoğlu, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports. In the School of Law Courtroom, under the moderation of the our Dean of the School of Law, Prof. Şükrü Yıldız, Deputy Minister Koçoğlu shared her vision for the future of legal professions, the transformative power of volunteer activities on young lawyers, and significant experiences from his own career journey with our students.
In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Koçoğlu summarized her career path from legal education to academic work and public service, emphasizing the importance of diverse experiences in professional development. Highlighting the role of volunteer work in enhancing young people’s professional skills, she stated: “The more you engage in the field and within the community, the better you get to know both yourself and your profession.” She also discussed how active involvement in civil society organizations can positively influence career planning.
During the event, our students posed questions about legal education, international work opportunities, and leadership dynamics in the public sector. Deputy Minister Koçoğlu answered each question sincerely, adopting a one-on-one mentorship approach.
At the end of the program, our Dean of the School of Law Prof. Şükrü Yıldız presented Deputy Minister Koçoğlu with a plaque of appreciation, and a commemorative photo was taken to mark the occasion.
