The launch program of the European Union–funded “Compass: A Common Direction of Humanity” project, conducted in partnership with our university and the Jerusalem-based Al-Quds University under the Erasmus+ framework, took place on Thursday, May 8 at the Media and Event Center, Event Hall.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Assoc. Prof. Safa Koçoğlu, Ambassador of Palestine to Ankara Dr. Faed Mustafa, President of TÜRGEV Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, President of Al-Quds University Prof. Imad Abu Kishek, Vice Presidents of our University Prof. Mustafa Kemal Yılmaz and Prof. Özcan Akgün, and Dean of the School of Law Prof. Şükrü Yıldız.
The project coordinators were Ömer Faruk Yıldırım, a double major student at the School of Law, and Res. Assist. Kaan Şentürk. Law students Mahmut Sami Şenyiğit and Bahadır Bahacan Kibar also contributed to the project. The project advisor was Assist. Prof. Meryem Solmaz, a faculty member at the School of Law.
As part of the program, Al-Quds University students will be hosted in Istanbul, while Ibn Haldun University students will visit Jerusalem. The project aims to bring together young participants to share knowledge and experiences on themes such as cultural heritage, international law, urban consciousness, and human rights.
