Between April 25–27, 2025, our Law School faculty members and students successfully represented our university at the 16th Leiden–Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition, hosted by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Athens, Greece. The competition brought together participants, academics, and competitors from over 50 countries working in the fields of air and space law.
Following the written round, which served as a qualifier for the semi-final stage, 17 teams from 15 different countries competed in the oral rounds. Our students, Zehra Nur Arık, Aleyna Oruçoğlu, and Muhammed Furkan Arık, successfully advanced through the written phase and represented Ibn Haldun University and Türkiye with distinction. The team was coached by our Law Faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Erol and Research Assistant Muhammet Talha Kaan.
After months of intensive preparation, our team faced four different teams in the semi-finals and delivered an impressive performance that earned the appreciation of both the jury members and other competitors. They placed fourth in the claimant round, seventh in the respondent round, and eighth overall in the competition.
Following the competition, during social events, our team members engaged with students and jury members from various countries, paving the way for new academic and professional collaborations. Our university aims to continue moot court studies and increase international achievements in this field.
