The second event of the CLS Workshops, organized by our Computational Legal Studies Team to listen to the relationship between artificial intelligence and social sciences from competent scholars, to examine the studies done in this field, to talk about the contributions of computational methods to social sciences and especially to legal studies, was held on Tuesday, May 2nd. With the participation of Dr. Uğur Özdemir, with a speech entitled " Is the intelligence artificial? Is science social?"
Dr. Uğur Özdemir is a faculty member at Edinburgh University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. He conducts his studies on topics such as comparative political behavior, electoral politics models and quantitative methods. Uğur Özdemir describes himself as “a determined advocate of bridging the gap between theoretical modeling and empirical analysis”. Özdemir made explanations on the concepts of social science and social scientist at the event and conveyed his valuable ideas that artificial intelligence, machine learning or deep learning systems can gain importance with social science studies to the participants and the project team.
