Our 3rd year Law Faculty students: Çiğdem Kıyak, Fatih Yasir Uzdu, Furkan Taş, Meryem Dündar, Muhammed Fatih Bağcı, Muhammet Emirhan Sarı, Mukaddes Tatlıgül and Mustafa Eren Şirin, participated in the "30. Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot". In the competition held in Vienna, between 31 March - 6 April, our Faculty Member of Law, Dr. Mustafa Oğuz Tuna and our 4th grade student Ahmed Kürşad Özeren coached the team.
Willem C. Vis Moot Court, one of the most prestigious arbitration competitions in the world, was held this year with the participation of 378 different teams. Ibn Haldun University Team, one of the 17 teams representing our country, went through the written stage first and then competed in the oral stage with their vigorous efforts.
Our team, which first competed in two sessions on April 1, was represented mainly by Furkan Taş in the first match of Fatih Yasir Uzdu in Vienna Baker & McKenzie Law Office, as the plaintiff against Addis Ababa University. In the second meeting held on the same day, M. Fatih Bağcı was mainly represented by Meryem Dündar as the plaintiff against Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University at the Vienna University Faculty of Law Building (Juridicum).
Our team, which went to its third match on April 2, was represented by Emirhan Sarı in the proceedings as the defendant against the University of Amsterdam in the Juridicum. Our team, which played its fourth and final match on April 4, was represented by Çiğdem Kıyak in the proceedings as the defendant against Belgrade University in the Juridicum.
Our team competed in the general rounds of the oral stage of the Arbitration Moot in four separate sessions, twice as the defendant and twice as the plaintiff.
