Scholarships

Ibn Haldun University offers three kinds of financial aid to eligible students admitted to GSHSS:

  • Partial or full tuition waiver
  • Monthly stipend
  • Housing support

Every admitted student may be eligible for one or more of the financial aid options stated above.

Scholarships available for students admitted to thesis-based M.A. programs and PhD degree programs at IHU, GSHSS, are classified into five categories:

  • Ibn Haldun Merit Scholarship (UBB): a highly competitive and selective scholarship awarded to candidates with excellent academic records, and to candidates who have made significant contributions to their scholarly fields. UBB recipients are chosen from a pool of qualified candidates following the assessment of their graduate school interviews.
  • Full Scholarship (TAB): a scholarship awarded on the grounds of academic merit, following the assessment of the candidates’ scholarship application files and graduate school interviews.
  • Tuition Waiver (OGB): a merit-based waiver granted to candidates with strong scholarship application files, following the assessment of their graduate school interviews.
  • Partner Institution and Project Scholarship (APB): a scholarship awarded to candidates applying from partner institutions, and to applicants whose degrees are funded within the scope of projects financed by partner institutions.
  • IHU Staff Scholarship (PEB): a scholarship awarded to IHU staff members who are graduate program applicants, following the assessment of their graduate school interviews.

Students admitted to course-based Master’s degree programs (and to forthcoming non-dissertation doctoral degree programs) can benefit from the following scholarship options:

  • Tuition Waiver (OGB): partial exemption from tuition fees.
  • Partner Institution and Project Scholarship (APB)
  • IHU Staff Scholarship (PEB)

The scope and details of the scholarships and financial aid offered in graduate programs, course-based or thesis-based, are provided in Tables 1 and 2 respectively.

The kinds of scholarships and aid awarded to a candidate are decided according to the evaluations of his or her academic record, application file (statement of purpose, scholarship application letter), and of his or her performance during the graduate school interview.

The details of the scholarships and financial aid offered within the scope of Ibn Haldun University’s master’s and doctoral programs are specified in the Directives for Graduate Program Scholarships and Financial Aid, (https://www.ihu.edu.tr/files/ihu-lisansustu-burs-yonergesi.pdf ), dated 17.07.2017. Applicants should refer to these directives during the application process.
