Prof. Dr. Mahmut Koca is a member of Public Law at Medipol University Faculty of Law. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 1991. Professor Mahmut completed his master’s degree at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences in the field of Public Law in 1993 with his thesis titled "Offence of persuasion and assistance to suicide in the Turkish Penal Code” and his PhD in 1998 with his thesis titled "The Defense right of the accused one of in the preliminary investigation". He became Associate Professor in 2004 and Professor in 2011. His Associate Professorship Thesis is titled "The Crime of Plunder " and his Professorship Presentation Thesis is titled "Turkish Criminal law General Provisions". He has published many books and articles on Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law. 

Professor Mahmut has been teaching part-time at Ibn Haldun University since 2020.
