First lecture of Conference Series on Current Legal Issues was held by the Law School of Ibn Haldun University. In the lecture, assistant professor Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükcüoglu discussed the protection of the employees’ personal data. In Turkish law, processing the personal data is regulated in the Protection of Personal Data Code numbered 6698, which was entered into force on 2016. As the employers are considered data controller within the framework of the said Code, the provisions of the Code have important consequences in employment relationship as well. Current issues and new developments will continue to be discussed in detail from a legal perspective within the Conference Series on Current Legal Issues which is going to be periodically organized by the Law School of Ibn Haldun University.
