Current Legal Issues in the Coronavirus Period

Call for Papers

A symposium titled “Current Legal Issues in the Coronavirus Period” will be organized by Ibn Haldun University – School of Law on 29 May 2020. Based on Council of Higher Education’s proposal dated 6 March 2020, it was decided to organize the symposium online. Details of online symposium will be announced at a later time.

Papers can be presented in all areas of law at this symposium. In particular, the symposium aims to evaluate the effects of changes in the economic, social and technological fields by the pandemic period on national and international law. Applications can also be made on interdisciplinary matters. Paper applications will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee consisting of experts in the field, by comparing the importance of the chosen topic with other applications made with similar titles and paying attention to whether it is up-to-date. After the selection of the accepted papers, the symposium program will be notified to the participants on 18 May 2020 via e-mail and will be announced to public.

Symposium Language

It is possible to attend the symposium with presentations either in Turkish or English.

Submission of Abstracts and Participation in the Symposium:

Each paper presentation time should be no more than 20 minutes. In the papers written by more than one person, the number and the identity of the person(s) who will make the presentation should be stated. The presentations will be recorded by video recording method and can be published in the channels approved by the Organizing Board if deemed necessary. The submitted papers must have not been presented or published anywhere before and they should be the original studies of participants.

Abstracts for the application should be prepared between 500-1000 words with 5 keywords (in Turkish and English) and a bibliography. Along with the abstract, the author’s CV (with the institution and contact information he worked for) should be sent to the address of law@ihu.edu.tr until 8 May 2020. Abstracts of the papers will be subjected to scientific preliminary examination by blind review method and accepted papers will be presented at the symposium. Accepted authors will be informed via e-mail on 15 May 2020 and a letter will be sent regarding the acceptance of the notification.

 

Publishing

All the abstracts of the papers presented at the symposium will be published in an e-book with ISBN. It is assumed that the authors submitting the abstracts give their approval for this publication in case of acceptance of the abstracts. No copyright fee will be paid to the authors for the booklet and full-text publication. Papers accepted to the symposium will be published in an edited book or journal upon the referee review, provided that they are sent in full text to the e-mail address mentioned above until 30 June 2020.
